Competition details
Imagine that the 'Wiggos' are worms from space and that their planet has been destroyed by pollution. Now they have travelled to Earth to prevent the same thing from happening to us. Do something creative! Help the 'Wiggos' encourage people on Earth to recycle their food waste and tell them why it is important to do so. Submit a story, picture, poem, song (200-500 words for any written submission) or a video (3-5 minutes) or all of them to convey this message and make sure you include 'Wiggos' and 'worms' in your creative piece!
Guidelines
The competition has been organised by the Strategic Waste Team at Colchester Borough Council in partnership with BEEcycle Ltd to raise awareness on food waste, composting and worms. Open to all KS 2 pupils from Colchester schools, each submission can be entered as a part of a year or a class group project with up to three entries per school. Teachers and adults can direct the pupils but the creative piece must be the pupils' own work.
